End of October Fun!

We celebrated our third anniversary on October 21st! For my Teacher of the Year honor last year I had received a gift card to the Angus Barn. It was a delicious meal... and A LOT of food! Christopher enjoyed a huge steak with a salad and mashed potatoes; I had filet mignon and veggie kabobs with a bowl of seafood chowder, salad, and rice. We had so much leftover... I think we came home with more food than we actually ate there! Since we were celebrating, the waitor had balloons on our table and we received a complimentary pound cake dessert! It had to come home with us because we were too stuffed to eat it!

Also baby boy has a name... but we're not telling! :) As a surprise on our anniversary, my sweet husband put together an adorable wall hanging for his room to spell out his first and middle name... it hasn't been hung up yet but he had it laid out on the floor in the nursery. I cried when I opened the door and saw what he had done! Turns out he loved the name that I loved and was just giving me a hard time! On the letters he had bought jungle animals that will "sit" on the letters:

So there's an A in his name somewhere but that's all you're getting until we meet our son! :)
Yesterday we went to Hillridge Farms with the Taylors! We had a great time on this chilly Fall day!

We're 38 weeks now.... and I'm still feeling pretty good most of the time! I've been having a lot more Braxton Hicks contractions yesterday and today. They've also been lasting longer... and still making me nauseous. I'm hoping that I won't have this nausea during labor and delivery. The contractions have also changed some as far as how they feel... not sure how to describe it though. They're more "cramp-like" than before. It is rather freaky how hard my belly gets when I've having one. I had a doctor's appointment on Friday, but still no progress made as far as dilation, etc. I'm not discouraged at all; baby boy is in position and ready to go... that's all that matters to me.
All the final preparations are happening... Saturday I did some shopping for final things that we need. I got all his clothes and blankets washed... not usual that I can say doing laundry is fun! I need to finish packing my hospital bag this week also. I'm trying to stay as active as possible while still resting.
The due date is two weeks from tomorrow!

Sweet touch Christopher with naming the baby! But Kara, "A" is not enough of a clue. I am being patient though! Next year, the picture of the "baby smiling"at Hillridge will be the real thing. Can his grandmother and grandfather tag along?!?!
